Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth
The goal is divided into several sub-goals. The first goal comprises stable per capita economic growth, especially in the least developed countries (8.1). This requires increased economic productivity and development-oriented policies (8.2 + 8.3). Developed countries should take the lead in decoupling economic growth and environmental degradation (8.4). Full and productive employment under decent working conditions with equal pay for all, including young people without school education, is set as a goal (8.5 + 8.6). Workplaces should be free of forced labour, slavery or child labour and safe in the sense of respecting the labour rights of all workers (8.7 + 8.8). Sustainable tourism to create local jobs and national financial situations should be strengthened to favour access to insurance or financial services (8.9 + 8.10).
While aid for trade support to developing countries is to be increased, a global strategy is to be developed by 2020 to ensure youth employment (8.a + 8.b).
