The AStA of TU Dortmund University, Campus for future and the Studierendenwerk Dortmund are jointly organising a sustainability week on campus from 30 May to 3 June 2022. With a colourful programme and numerous activities, the organisers invite you to join in.
During the week, various vegetarian and vegan dishes will be offered in the main mensa and new dishes will be tried out. In addition, there will be a special offer in the Archeteria on the South Campus during this time: All meals and snacks will be completely vegan or vegetarian. The Studierendwerk will also offer drinks in returnable glass bottles, fair-trade tea, vegan bars and other sustainable products.
"With the campaign week, we want to jointly create more awareness for sustainable topics and offer incentives to try something new," says Jens Müller, department head of university catering at Studierendenwerk Dortmund.
On Monday, those interested can take part in a sewing course, repair their bike together and attend a live podcast recording with the Nutrition Council Dortmund. On Tuesday, there will be workshops on upcycling and waste avoidance, a lecture on vegan nutrition and vegan ice cream, and a film screening. On Wednesday, you can visit the campus garden and on Thursday there will be a swap meet for clothes, plants and other items. The week ends with a Climate Slam on Friday evening. Note: For some events and workshops, prior registration with AStA or Studierendenwerk is required.
There will also be a sustainability market on Tuesday. Sustainability initiatives will present themselves on Martin-Schmeißer-Platz from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and regional suppliers of the Studierendenwerk will provide information about their products.
More information about the programme and the special gastronomic offers is also available on the pages of the AStA and the Studierendenwerk.
