Reuse 3D-Waste
When? 1 pm to 3 pm
Where? Emil-Figge-Str. 40 (Department of Architecture, Room 1.02)
What? Reuse 3D-Waste
Within the digital process chain, 3D printing is used to create prototypes, model variants and concept studies, among other things. Devices of this type are used throughout the university. This results in printing waste (support and adhesive material), misprints and disused models are currently largely disposed of as waste, even though they are usually single-origin plastic products.
With the reuse 3D-printing waste project, the Faculty of Architecture at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts has found a way to return the resulting waste to the material cycle. Interested?
Then come and see how recycled filament is produced. We look forward to your visit.
Registration at Csr-officefh-dortmundde
Number of participants max. 20 people
Spinning wool
When? 2 pm to 4 pm
Where? EF 50 (in front of the Soffi)
What? Spinning, crocheting, knitting - from wool to yarn
We will show you how to spin yarn from wool. Spinning with a hand spindle is easy to learn with a little patience. You can also easily make your own hand spindle. (3D print templates available from us)
All over the world, hand-spun textiles are regarded as carriers of cultural significance. Today, they are treasured and admired in our museums and are considered a world cultural heritage. Every society needs culture in order to develop. And it also needs creative people. The art of hand spinning is a great way of practising the dexterity of the hand in combination with the eye and foot. Although we are generally aware of the importance of hand dexterity for the development of the human brain and human culture, this knowledge is rarely put into practice in families and schools.

Chain theater
When? 7 pm to 9 pm
Where? EF 50 (in front of the main entrance)
What? Chain theater - bike tour with improv theater
On a leisurely bike tour, we will stop at various locations near the campus. At each location, our ensemble will improvise impromptu theater scenes - based on your own personal themes! Each scene will be absolutely unique and unfold as action-packed or absurd, funny or heart-wrenching.
The chain theater ties in with the iconic Velokitchen chain cinema. For the Sustainability Week 2025, we were once again able to win inTUition, the successful improvisational theater of TU Dortmund University, for a cooperation.
To take part, all you need is a working bike and, depending on the weather, something suitable to put on. The tour will take about 2 hours. In case of heavy rain, we will move to a room in the EF50.
