The campus of the TU Dortmund University is located near the freeway junction Dortmund West, where the A45 crosses the B1/A40. The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.
The "Dortmund Universität" S-Bahn station is located directly on the North Campus. From there, the S1 runs every 20 or 30 minutes to Dortmund main station and in the opposite direction to Düsseldorf main station via Bochum, Essen and Duisburg. In addition, the university can be reached by the bus lines 445, 447 and 462. Timetable information can be found on the homepage of the Rhine-Ruhr transport association, and DSW21 also offers an interactive route network map.
One of the landmarks of the TU Dortmund is the H-Bahn. Line 1 runs every 10 minutes between Dortmund Eichlinghofen and the Technology Center via Campus South and Dortmund University S, while Line 2 commutes every 5 minutes between Campus North and Campus South. It covers this distance in two minutes.
From Dortmund Airport, the AirportExpress takes just over 20 minutes to Dortmund main station and from there to the university by S-Bahn. A wider range of international flight connections is offered by Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometers away, which can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university's train station.

What? Creative ideas competition for a sustainable food system
Did you know that our eating habits contribute to 30% of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide? In addition, workers and small farmers around the world suffer from unfair working conditions, and at the same time more and more people are suffering from diet-related diseases such as obesity and diabetes due to unhealthy trends. The global food system is facing a variety of challenges that have both long-term and short-term effects on food security, climate, environment and health. Your ideas can help to make the food system fairer, healthier and more sustainable!
In our ideas workshop, you have the opportunity to work with other young adults to find out what interests you most about these problems and what solutions you would like to see. We discuss topics such as food waste, unequal distribution of food and the impact of agriculture on the climate and people. Together with other participants, you will develop creative ideas for an international campaign calling for a fair and sustainable food system! The campaign will run as part of the EU project "Turn the Tables" in the partner countries Italy, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Germany.
You will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people, contribute your perspectives and work together to develop creative ideas for the future. The best ideas will be awarded a prize and each participant will receive a certificate of participation.
Sign up, become part of a strong community and actively work on the future of our food!

What? Get to know beekeeping
Have you always wanted to know how a bee colony works? Would you like to beekeep yourself? Do you want to know how the honey gets into the jar or do you just want to know what you can do for the busy pollinators?
Then come to our workshop. We have had bee colonies from the Aplerbeck Beekeepers' Association on the university campus for many years now. After a theoretical introduction, the beekeepers from the association will explain the work of the bee colonies to us on site and we will learn about honey production in a practical way.
If you would like to try the FH honey in advance, you can buy the delicious honey in our store.
