New courses for the studium oecologicum in summer semester 2026

The studium oecologicum module catalog for the summer semester 2026 is now available for all students. There you will find courses of the TU Dortmund University divided into basic modules (unfortunately no offer in SoSe 26) and the five subject areas of the studium oecologicum as well as cooperation offers. Please note further information on prerequisites for the respective courses in the LSF. All information on registration can be found on our registration page.
TU internal courses:
Unfortunately, no basic module for the studium oecologicum can be offered this summer semester. Students who would like to take a basic module will have to wait for the lecture series "Klima: Wandel, Werte, Wissenschaft" in the coming winter semester, which counts as a basic module with 3 CP for the studium oecologicum.
The Chair of Urban and Regional Planning offers the seminar "TUWas! Nachhaltigkeit auf dem Campus sichtbar machen" with 3 CP. TU Dortmund University is full of ideas for a sustainable future. But these ideas often remain invisible. This should be changed. In this interdisciplinary seminar, participants develop innovative information boards for the campus that show where sustainability is already being practiced. This strengthens communication and transparency on this topic. The seminar counts towards the studium oecologicum in the subject area "Space and Construction" and the registration deadline is 26.03. at 23:59.

The range of courses on offer may be extended before the start of the semester, as lecturers are currently still being requested.
Cooperation lectures outside TU Dortmund University:
In the summer semester 2026, the seminar "Self Learning Trails: Digital gestützte Stadtführer als Methode der Erwachsenenbildung in der Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation" will be offered with 5 CP. The didactic basics for preparing sustainability topics for use outside the classroom are taught. Students are instructed to work in small groups to prepare a sustainability topic in order to create a digital guide. In addition, basic criteria for the development of excursions are taught, such as the selection of suitable destinations and routes and the creation of (digital) materials (e.g. audio files or gaming elements). To accompany the seminar, students explore places in the region that relate to the chosen sustainability topic. The course is a cooperative offer within the framework of the UA-Ruhr and is open to students from the universities of Bochum, Dortmund and Duisburg-Essen with 10 places each. The main organization lies with the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) and therefore the attendance dates also take place at the RUB. The seminar counts for the studium oecologicum in the subject area "Society" and in the subject area "Science and Technology" and the registration deadline ends on 10.04.26 at 23:59.
The sustainability initiative of the universities of NRW Humboldtⁿ offers an online lecture series on the topic "Transformationsregionen in NRW - aus Erfahrungen lernen" with 2 CP. In addition to scientific perspectives from sociology, political consulting and economics, lectures from successful projects in various NRW regions will also be presented in this lecture series. Participants will gain insights from theory and practice in order to be able to analyze the different fields of action of transformation processes. The lecture series counts towards the studium oecologicum in the subject area "Society" and "Science and Technology" and the registration deadline is April 13, 2026 at 3 p.m.
The University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE ) is also reopening its course catalog for the "Zertifikat Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE)". The courses that are activated for the UDE certificate can be recognized for the studium oecologicum. The courses can be assigned to the subject areas of the studium oecologicum. Furthermore, the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) is reopening individual courses of its "Zertifikat Nachhaltigkeit" for the studium oecologicum. More detailed information can be found in the LSF in the studium oecologicum cooperation projects. The courses can also be assigned to the departments of the studium oecologicum.
