Goal 1: No poverty
The goal is divided into several sub-goals. The first sub-goal is to eradicate extreme poverty for all people (1.1). Currently, people are considered extremely poor if they have less than 1.25 US dollars per day at their disposal. Furthermore, sub-goal 1.2 aims to halve poverty in all dimensions according to the respective national definition. Similarly, social protection systems and measures should be introduced for all (1.3), all men and women should have equal rights to economic resources and access to land ownership, natural resources or financial services (1.4), and the resilience of the poor to climate-related extreme events and other economic, social and ecological disasters should be increased (1.5). This requires significant resource mobilisation from multiple sources for developing countries (1.a) and support for accelerated investment in poverty eradication measures (1.b).
