Vom 7. bis zum 27. Mai sollen die Teilnehmenden so oft wie möglich auf das Fahrrad als alternatives Verkehrsmittel umsteigen.

TU Dortmund University is participating in the Climate Alliance's nationwide campaign for the fourth time. STADTRADELN stands for active climate protection, improved quality of life in the communities, more promotion of cycling and simply fun cycling. After the TU Dortmund has already provided the most successful team in Dortmund in the last three years, the aim is to cover more than 100,000 kilometres by bike in 2023.

From 7 to 27 May 2023, Dortmund will take part in the campaign as a municipality. During this three-week campaign period, participants should avoid using their car or public transport as often as possible and instead switch to cycling. Anyone who lives, works, belongs to a association or attends a school or university in Dortmund can take part in the campaign. The kilometres covered by all participants who register as TU members will be included in the TU Dortmund team ranking at the end.

TU Dortmund aims to break the 100,000-kilometre mark

After its successes in 2020 and 2021, TU Dortmund was also able to defend its title last year: With a total of over 91,000 kilometres cycled, it achieved first place in the Dortmund STADTRADELN team ranking. This year's goal is to motivate even more students and employees to break the 100,000-kilometre mark together.

Registration is possible on the STADTRADELN website, where participants can also join the "TU Dortmund" team. Once registration is complete, cycling can begin on 7 May. It does not matter at which location or whether the kilometres are covered on business or privately. The kilometres are collected together as a team. The mileage can be transmitted in different ways: via online entry in the mileage book, via mileage tracking with the STADTRADELN app or analogue via a mileage sheet to the local coordination.

Sub-teams can also be formed within the "TU Dortmund" team. You can challenge and motivate each other within a faculty or department. Last year, mathematics was the most active sub-team and was delighted to receive the challenge cup at the TU award ceremony. Participants can also win prizes such as bicycles or cycling equipment. With a little luck, TU Dortmund team members can also win exclusive prizes donated by the university sports department.
