The Sustainability Office took part in the network meeting as part of the DG HochN Hub "INNO4BNE" (Innovative Teaching Formats for Education for Sustainable Development) from 20-21.11.24. Work on ESD and innovative teaching formats was carried out at themed tables. In addition to the gallery walk with poster presentations, there was plenty of time for networking.

On November 20 and 21, the members of the INNO4BNE network came together for the second network meeting in presence at Leipzig University. In an inspiring atmosphere, it became clear that this network is not just a platform, but a vibrant community characterized by mutual support, empowerment and a strong sense of community.

Discussions and work took place at themed tables on topics such as 'Wohle Institution Approach: How does student participation succeed?', 'ESD and democracy: Dealing with world views and assumptions' and 'Service learning as an ESD method'. At the same time, a workshop was held to discuss common framework conditions for sustainability certificates for students and to exchange experiences and ideas.

In the Gallery Walk with poster presentations, 10 exciting projects from various universities and institutions were presented that relate to ESD. Marvin Maikler, representing the 'Summer School for Sustainability Initiative' and coordinator of studium oecologicum, presented the Summer School for Sustainability to the network participants in a pitch, a one-week interactive teaching format at TU Dortmund University, which aims to raise awareness of sustainability and bring participants closer to these principles for their daily and professional lives. The Summer School was successfully offered for the first time in the summer semester 2024 and is to be continued in summer 2025. The poster can be found here.

The Summer School for Sustainability was met with enthusiasm by the network audience and Marvin Maikler from TU Dortmund University's Sustainability Office was delighted to receive 1st place in the Poster Award and the certificate, which was presented to him by network manager Daria Humburg.

The meeting showed once again how powerful an active network can be - a network that is alive and growing. The great atmosphere and the diverse efforts to continue the work underline that INNO4BNE offers a sustainable basis for innovation in teaching and cooperation on ESD topics. The Sustainability Office is looking forward to further joint exchange!
