Sustainability Week
Save the Date
The Sustainability Week 2026 will take place on campus from June 22 to 25, 2026. It is being organized jointly by:
Sustainability Mile - Discover Sustainable Ideas
On June 22 from 10.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m., the foyer of the Studierendenwerk Dortmund will be transformed into a colorful mile around the topic of sustainability. To mark the start of the joint Sustainability Week, Studierendenwerk Dortmund, Fachhochschule Dortmund and TU Dortmund University invite all students and staff to take a short tour (e.g. during their lunch break) to discover new things and be inspired. Whether regional products, creative student projects, exciting initiatives or useful services and advice - on the Sustainability Mile you will find lots of ideas and suggestions for a sustainable life and can exchange ideas with other committed people.
Would you like to present your sustainable initiative? If you have any questions, please contact Rico Heber from Studierendenwerk Dortmund.
KreativFlohMarkt & "Kita" Flea Market
On 23 June from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., it will be colourful on campus: The KreativFlohMarkt will take place at Emil-Figge-Straße 50 and the Kita im Grünen is organizing its flea market for children's things at Gardenkamp 47-49.
As part of the joint Sustainability Week, the "ASten" of Fachhochschule Dortmund and TU Dortmund University cordially invite everyone to come along and join in. At the KreativFlohMarkt, students can run a stall free of charge - whether you want to dawdle, swap or sell things you have made yourself. There will also be a plant swap stall run by the TU campus gardening group, where you can share your green treasures or take new plants with you. At the same time, the "Kita im Grünen" offers a flea market for children's things - perfect for browsing and discovering! Whether you are looking for something, want to get rid of something or simply want to exchange ideas with others - a relaxed day full of creative ideas and nice encounters awaits you here.
If you have any questions, please contact: AStA of Fachhochschule Dortmund/AStA of TU Dortmund University or the "Kita im Grünen" (for the daycare flea market).
MachBar! - Workshop for Sustainable Skills
On June 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the MachBar! will open its doors in the foyer of the Studierendenwerk Dortmund (Vogelpothsweg 85) - a creative workshop all about sustainability and practical do-it-yourself ideas. As part of the joint sustainability week organized by Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, TU Dortmund University and Studierendenwerk Dortmund, we cordially invite all students, staff and interested parties to come by and get active.
At the various hands-on stands, you can lend a hand, try out new things and contribute your own ideas. Whether mini-workshops or creative activities - the focus here is on trying things out together. The MachBar! is the perfect place to learn new sustainable skills, exchange ideas with others and take away inspiration for your everyday life. If you have any questions, please contact Nina Hänisch from TU Dortmund University's Sustainability Office.
Impact Cup - We award the Sustainability Prize
Sustainability thrives on joint commitment – in research, teaching, administration, and study. With the joint sustainability award “Impact Cup”, the sustainability offices of TU Dortmund University and Fachhochschule Dortmund honor institutions, departments, and individuals who are particularly committed to sustainable action. Since 2024, the Impact Cup has been awarded once a year on the last day of the joint sustainability week. On June 25, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., we would like to once again highlight and celebrate outstanding commitment. We will meet in front of building EF50 (campus of TU Dortmund University, Emil-Figge-Str. 50, 44227 Dortmund).
We have chosen mobility as the focus for the supporting program. The largest share of CO₂ emissions at both universities is caused by the daily commuting of students and staff. At the award ceremony, professors and experts from the university and the city of Dortmund will engage in conversation with interested visitors to discuss ideas for sustainable mobility on campus and beyond.
