By car

The campus of the TU Dortmund University is located near the freeway junction Dortmund West, where the A45 crosses the B1/A40. The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.

By bus and train

The "Dortmund Universität" S-Bahn station is located directly on the North Campus. From there, the S1 runs every 20 or 30 minutes to Dortmund main station and in the opposite direction to Düsseldorf main station via Bochum, Essen and Duisburg. In addition, the university can be reached by the bus lines 445, 447 and 462. Timetable information can be found on the homepage of the Rhine-Ruhr transport association, and DSW21 also offers an interactive route network map.

The H-Bahn

One of the landmarks of the TU Dortmund is the H-Bahn. Line 1 runs every 10 minutes between Dortmund Eichlinghofen and the Technology Center via Campus South and Dortmund University S, while Line 2 commutes every 5 minutes between Campus North and Campus South. It covers this distance in two minutes.

By plane

From Dortmund Airport, the AirportExpress takes just over 20 minutes to Dortmund main station and from there to the university by S-Bahn. A wider range of international flight connections is offered by Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometers away, which can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university's train station.

End hunger, achieve food security, better nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture

Goal 2: Zero hunger

The goal is divided into several sub-goals. The first two sub-goals are to completely end hunger (2.1) and all forms of malnutrition (2.2). To this end, agricultural productivity and the incomes of small-scale food producers are to be doubled, among other things. The latter should also be given secure and equal access to production resources and inputs (2.3). Likewise, the sustainability of food systems is to be ensured and resilient agricultural methods applied that contribute to the preservation of ecosystems and withstand climate change (2.4). In addition, genetic diversity should be preserved and access to these genetic resources secured (2.5).

Investments in rural infrastructure and the exchange of knowledge and technology should help less developed countries in particular to increase their food production (2.a). Furthermore, trade restrictions and distortions in agricultural markets should be corrected and all agricultural export subsidies with similar effects should be abolished (2.b), as well as extreme fluctuations in food prices should be limited (2.c).

Cafeteria on the North Campus

Im April 2022 wurde eine Umfrage zum gastronomischen Angebot am Campus der TU durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse wurden nun veröffentlicht.

Im April haben das Nachhaltigkeitsbüro und der AStA der TU Dortmund gemeinsam mit dem Studierendenwerk Dortmund eine Umfrage unter den Nutzer*innen des gastronomischen Angebots des Studierendenwerks durchgeführt.

Mit dieser Umfrage sollten Fragen zur allgemeinen Zufriedenheit, dem Essensangebot und individuelle Wünsche ausgewertet werden.

In der Umfrage im Zeitraum vom 16. März bis zum 8. April 2022 wurden insgesamt 3.025 Fragebögen vollständig ausgefüllt. 2.362 Studierende und 734 Mitarbeitende nahmen teil, dass entspricht nach den Zahlen der TU 18 % der Mitarbeitenden und 7 % aller eingeschriebenen Studierenden im Jahr 2021.
