Summer School for Sustainability, running from August 12-16, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily.

Dear Students,

Join us at the TU Dortmund Summer School for Sustainability 2024, running from August 12-16, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. This initiative is a collaborative effort among various institutions and members of TU Dortmund and is designed to enhance your understanding of sustainability and equip you with the skills needed for impactful decisions in both your professional and personal lives.

Explore Key Topics:

  • Start with an in-depth analysis of the Sustainable Development Goals and the latest findings of the IPCC report (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), enhancing your grasp of pressing global and local sustainability challenges.
  • Engage in Sustain2030, a dynamic simulation game where you navigate the complexities of political and financial constraints as a stakeholder in a citizens' council.
  • Conclude with a group poster presentation that consolidates your learning outcomes, serving as your non-graded assessment.

Registration, Selection Process, and Credits:

  • Earn 3 CP, applicable as a basic, non-graded module towards the Studium Oecologicum, contingent upon full participation and engagement.
  • International students are prioritized from any discipline, with a total of 30 spots available. If demand exceeds capacity, spots will be allocated via a lottery on the preparation day, scheduled for June 28, 2024, at 4:00 PM via Zoom.
  • To register by June 20 at the latest and access the Zoom link for the preparation day, visit the LSF course portal.
  • Note: The module will be conducted in English and requires in-person attendance.

We eagerly anticipate your participation in this enriching summer school, designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools to drive sustainable practices forward.

Best regards,

The Summer School for Sustainability Initiative
