To strengthen biodiversity and for a near-natural campus, doctoral students should be able to plant a tree at the university.
Together with doctoral students and Department 6, the Sustainability Office is projecting a forest garden for which TU graduates can donate and plant trees after successfully completing their doctorates. In this way, a forest garden is to be created over time as a recreational area that will enable the donors to leave green and sustainable traces on the campus in addition to their research results.
The project will be scientifically conceptualized as part of a collaborative research effort to ensure that the plantings can withstand climate change and last. Ideally, a functioning ecosystem should emerge in the designated area, stabilizing or even increasing biodiversity on campus.
